Heavy and extra heavy oil can be expensive to produce. Contaminants are attracted to the surface charge of the oil. Just like magnet opposites attract and form a contaminated bond that can be difficult to break. This bond reduces the value of the produced crude, increases transport costs and safety risk associated with production.

The Alfaluz Solution
Alfaluz technology is an environmentally friendly solution that performs at ambient temperature and modifies the surface charge of contaminants to be the same as the oil creating a repelling effect. The charges repel each other, allowing for the bond to break and separation to occur. For the oilfield this means higher quality oil yield, the ability to remediate soil and water, and improved safety through the reduction of H2S.
