Alfaluz understands that each degree by which you increase your API gravity per barrel of oil yields on average an extra half percent per dollar per barrel of Brent crude. And while pretreatment methods do exist, and oil processing operations are expanding blending capabilities, these solutions require a massive capital cost. In addition, they’re expensive, labor-intensive, and only accomplish a fraction of the job.
Alfaluz M-Crack technology, used in conjunction with our Petromax water-based treatment formula, is a small, inexpensive plug-and-play system that can be easily installed at the well site, production site, or storage facility. The output of the technology increases the heavy crude oil quality to be as good or better as costly pretreated oil while simultaneously increasing its value.

Alfaluz’ M-Crack technology uses electric charge modification to separate hydrocarbons from inorganic solids and contaminants while virtually eliminating H2S.
Contaminants and hydrocarbons are attracted to the solids due to their different surface charges. Just like when the positive side of a magnet attaches itself to the negative side of another magnet, these opposites attract and form a bond that can be difficult to break.
Alfaluz technology modifies the surface charge of the solids the same as the oil and contaminants, creating a repelling effect just like two similarly charged magnets. The charges repel each other, breaking the bond and allowing separation to occur, instantaneously:
breaking the emulsion
decreasing the viscosity and density
mitigating H2S content of the crude
pre-separating the water and solids from the oil.
